COVID-19

Despite the situation produced by Covid-19, the research team of the EDIFY Program continues working with all the security measures. We would like to inform you that we are taking strict precautions and our ESRs work from home. Meetings and appointments are done online and our research plans won´t suffer penalties.

Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to the ESRs and partners in the Consortium, in how they are all dealing with the present difficult situation, showing the strength and determination of our EDIFY small community. We want to send you all a positive message, as we are confident that this situation will end soon and we will all start again our respective research, whatever challenges we face.

Learn about EDIFY through the experience of its researchers

Andrea Volpini, Damiano Massella, both Italian physicists; and Peter Forde, Irish physicist, are the researchers supervised by Francisco Diaz, Associate Professor of the University of Vigo and coordinator of the EDIFY program. An optical probe station has been installed at the University of Vigo

An optical probe station, provided with capacity for RF and DC measurements of photonics integrated circuits, has already been installed and is now fully operational. The EDIFY program is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie action with the aim of leading innovation projects and supporting research talent in Europe. The ultimate goal is to improve people's lives.

Researchers arrive at Bright Photonics and SMART Photonics

After completing their training at the University of Vigo, researchers from the EDIFY program are already in the Netherlands to complete their objectives. SMART Photonics, main beneficiary of the program; and Bright Photonics, the main associated partner of the program, are the companies where they will develop their projects with integrated photonics circuits (PICs). They will stay 30 months in these companies with several research and training secondments. EDIFY is a MSCA action with academic partners, the Universities of Vigo and Eindhoven (TUe); and industry partners, leaders in the in the integrated photonics ecosystem, like SMART Photonics BV, Bright Photonics, Photon Design and Phoenix BV.
