Transferable skill courses

Through the Doc‐TIC PhD Programme a number of course modules in areas related to integrated photonics are given to the ESRs. The EDIFY ESRs will be required to attend an intensive transferable‐skills based training formalised as specific courses. This will equip the ESRs with transferable skills in scientific writing, project management and business, entrepreneurship and leadership areas

Public dissemination of project results after protection

This document contains details on the dissemination plan and review of activities done in the last months of the Project EDIFY and after the end of the timeline too, in accordance with the guidelines on Exploitation and Dissemination of Results in Horizon 2020.

Comprehensive Education Programme Report

Through the Doc-TIC PhD Programme a number of course modules in canonical areas related to photonics (active and passive devices), quantum mechanics, solid-state physics and integrated photonics are given to the ESRs. Moreover, other collateral as transferable skills training courses were given to the students. Besides, some other extra training was accesible to students. In this report, the overall collection of these trainings and final comments are exposed.

Technical hands-on courses (TC) – TC3

In  addition  to  the  scientific-based  training,  EDIFY  offers  to  all  ESR  specific  short.term  hand-on  training  which  can  provide  the  ESRs  with  skills  in  highly  experienced  organizations,  receiving  cutting- edge technological knowledge and skills. These hands-on training will be provided at the  same time the ESRs are seconded to Partner Organizations providing the courses, i.e. PBV, PDesign  and BP, and are aimed to explore knowledge in circuit simulation and packaging.   .   Keywords: Photonics, Physics, Solid-state physics, Robotics, Training, Automation

Scientific Course SC3

Through the Doc‐TIC PhD Programme a number of course modules in areas related to
photonics (active and passive devices), quantum mechanics, solid‐state physics and integrated photonics are given to the ESRs. In this Scientific‐based course (SC3) the process
of fabrication and measurement has been covered.

Scientific Course SC4

Through the Doc‐TIC PhD Programme a number of course modules in areas related to photonics (active and passive devices), quantum mechanics, solid‐state physics and integrated photonics are given to the ESRs. This Scientific‐based course (SC4) offered to each ESR is a hands on session on Photonic Design Automation for core and metro WDM systems, optical access networks, lasers as well as active devices and circuits.

Scientific Course SC5

technology, simulation concepts, systems and devices on Silicon are studied.

Overall Recruitment

In this deliverable we report on the recruitment process and the recruitment results within the EDIFY project. We also comment on the application timeline and on the selection process. In summary, after approximately one year all ESR positions could be filled with very promising candidates. The deviation of the original work plan due to delays in the recruitment of up to 2 months for one ESR will not impede with the further course of the project, since the periods of secondments are flexible and training activities are adapted to the delays.

Website (First version)

A website has been developed and social media accounts have been envisaged for the EDIFY project. The visual identity of EDIFY and the website structure have been developed as part of the corporate branding deliverable.
